Latest development Section Transport:
A economic impact assessment report will be set up for acceptance of the Best Practice Guide by EU Commission.
On May 15th 2009 Mr. David Collett [President Section Transport] and Mr. Wim Richie [Vice President Section Transport] met with Mr. Repussard of DG Energy and Transport, regarding possible support of the EU Commission in introducing the Best Practice Guidelines [BPG] in the member States. ESTA was advised to set up an Economic Impact Assessment. This Economic Impact Assessment is to indicate the economic importance of the abnormal road transport and crane rental industry in Europe, the costs of obtaining the necessary permits and the estimated savings by introducing the BPG Europe wide.
After extensive search we are pleased to announce that ESTA has set up the project: Economic impact assessment of Abnormal Road Transport.
Purpose of this project is: Support of the EU Commission [Section Transport] in introducing the “European Best Practice Guidelines for Abnormal Road Transport" in the Member States.
The project will be managed by: Mr. Marten van der Molen with the assistance Mr. Derwin Kiers.
